Seattle-based Saltchuk has agreed to acquire Great Lakes Dredge & Dock, the largest dredging contractor in the United States, in a $1.5 billion all-cash deal that will keep the 136-year-old company operating as a standalone business while expanding Saltchuk’s maritime footprint.
